Well the talent show in Dodge has come and gone but not without good memories of great talent and a great show. There wasn’t even standing room left in the auditorium. The fleischkuekla supper sponsored by the Sunshine club was also well attended.
There were 17 enteries in four categories, youth, teen, adult, and duet. And the first place winners in each category were: youth-Lyndsey of Beulah, teen-Stephanie of Beulah, adult- Quintana of Halliday, and the duet competition was won by Stephanie and Quintana.
The Saddle Club also had a 50-50 drawing that was won by Robert Greenshields of Dodge.
Workers and ticket sellers are shown below.

If you are traveling on Hiway 200, you must take a break and check out the “C” store in Dodge. Gas prices are competitive, many hot and cold beverages and food items are available. There is also a pool table that adds a social flair to the establishment, but the best part ofthe store is the friendly faces behind the counter. Todd and Tammy Brinkman owners, will be happy to serve you.

The community began the task of putting photos from the recently closed school into a display in the city hall. The women worked on laying the pictures out, using the new tables purchased by a Horizon grant. The men put the folder display together. It was nice to see how everyone worked to finish this project. If anyone wants to observe the finished project, stop at the auditorium.

Area farm and ranch women have proved they want to be more involved in their farm/ranch enterprise. These 13 women recently completed Annie’s Project, a course offered by our office, the NDSU Extension Service in Dunn County, to empower them to become more involved in the financial end of their businesses.
These ladies learned about financial analysis, crop insurance, bookkeeping methods, marketing, goal setting and much more. Pre-surveys indicated that most of these women were not involved in the financial dealings of their enterprise.
Attendees were from the nearby communities of Dunn Center, Halliday, Golden Valley, Killdeer, Beaulah and Hebron. Annie’s is a six-week course in offered in 23 North Dakota locations this winter. Classes were held at the Halliday School.

Recently the city library, located in the city hall, has had a face-lift. All the books have been catalogued and updated. The new librarians have purchased many current books and would like input on any books the public would like us to purchase. We have a “new book” shelf so make sure you check that out first to see any new purchases. We also have many nonfiction books donated by the extension office. Check it out!!! Join the many patrons who are enjoying the availability of books in our own library. Happy Reading!!!
